In my late teens, I worked for Lillie Suburban Newspapers as a black and white print and film darkroom technician. On occasion, I took photographs to accompany stories that appeared in the Twin Cities area publications they produced.
People enjoying community celebrations, sporting events, and what I call "weekend fair weather events" were my subjects. What I captured was a reasonable measure of the community spirit and order of midwest suburban middle-class life during the Reagan era. Most photos were taken in Oakdale, North St. Paul and Maplewood, Minnesota. (Continued in Part 2)
